Amoghasiddhi’s name translates as ‘Infallible Success’ or ‘Unobstructed Accomplishment’. He is the buddha of the Karma family and presides over the buddhafield known as Karmaprasiddhi or Prakuṭā (Tib. Lerab Drubpa) located to the north. Longchenpa describes Amoghasiddhi’s pure land as the ‘realm of supreme accomplishment of action’.1Longchenpa, The Great Chariot. Amoghasiddhi displays the all-accomplishing wisdom of perfect buddha activity. This wisdom remains unobstructed by knowing everything all the time. The earliest textual reference seems to be in the 7th-8th century CE Sarvatathāgata Tattvasaṃgraha Tantra.
Chokgyur Dechen Zhikpa Lingpa composed a prayer that includes this verse dedicated to Amoghasiddhi:
བྱང་ཕྱོགས་ལས་རབ་རྫོགས་པའི་ཞིང་ཁམས་སུ། །
jangchok lérap dzokpé zhingkham su
In the northern pure realm of Fulfilled Activity,ཕྲག་དོག་རྣམ་དག་བྱ་གྲུབ་ཕོ་བྲང་ནས། །
trakdok namdak jadrup podrang né
within the all-accomplishing palace of immaculate jealousy,སངས་རྒྱས་དོན་ཡོད་གྲུབ་པ་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །
sangyé dönyö drupa la solwa dep
Buddha Amoghasiddhi: to you I pray!ཕྲག་དོག་རྣམ་དག་རྟོགས་པར་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །
