Bodhgaya

Bodhgaya is a religious site and place of pilgrimage associated with the Mahabodhi Temple Complex in the Gaya district of the Indian state of Bihar. It is famous because it is where Gautama Buddha is said to have obtained Enlightenment under what became known as the Bodhi Tree.

Tashi Ding

Tashi Ding Monastery is a Buddhist monastery of the Nyingma sect of Tibetan Buddhism in Western Sikkim, northeastern India. It is located on top of the hill rising between the Rathong Chu and the Rangeet River, 40 kilometres (25 mi) from Gyalshing and 19 kilometres (12 mi) to the south east of Yuksam. Tashi Ding is the nearest town to the Tashi Ding Monastery (Gompa), which is the most sacred and holy monastery in Sikkim.

Bumthang

Bumthang is a sacred place of Padmasambhava, mentioned many times in his life story, Pema Kathang. Tharpaling Monastery was founded by the Great Longchen Rabjam. To the north of Tharpaling Monastery is a place where Padmasambhava meditated and a temple that contains the kudung of Nyoshul Khen Rinpoche, Phakchok Rinpoche’s root guru. There is a meditation cave of Guru Rinpoche, a meditation cave of Longchenpa, and a rock throne where Longchenpa wrote part of his masterpiece Seven Treasures.

Boudha

Boudha is where the great Jarung Kashor Stupa, also known as Boudhanath Stupa, is found. It is here that in his previous life, Padmasambhava made the powerful aspiration to remove all obstacles of the Buddhadharma.
