In order to be helpful and bring benefits to the sangha, Rangjung Yeshe Gomde New York has decided to go online via Zoom for meditation practice, instruction, and discussion.

All are welcome to join us; originally we thought to set this up to primarily benefit those of us who have been meeting physically at RYG Cooperstown and then realized that it presented greater possibilities to be of service to the larger community of the Gomde sangha. Rinpoche has suggested more practice and we hope to create a group environment to facilitate that.

    The current schedule is:

♦  Progressive Stages of Meditation on Emptiness

In this book, Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche presents ways to meditate experientially on the ways the different Buddhist schools present emptiness, which many people find helpful.  We had just concluded a month-long consideration of the Cittamatra view and are about to move on to Madhyamaka.

    ♦  The 37 Practices of a Bodhisattva

We will begin study of Ngulchu Thogme’s well-loved text, using Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche’s commentary The Heart of Compassion as a general text, but any translation will be fine if people don’t want to buy a second copy.

    Reflection of the Day

The whole purpose of meditation is to realize and stabilize our dignity, the essential quality of our pure nature. This dignity is like a diamond buried deep within the earth, and meditation is our means of revealing it.
