Drupla Sonam continues his discussion of the rarity of obtaining a human birth by examining the Five Degenerations. We must remain mindful of our current state and how we have the precious, phenomenally rare opportunity to practice the Dharma in our current lives. This freedom may not be present in future lifetimes, so we should persist in our practice when we have the opportunity! Drupla reminds us that our present birth is either a servant of generating virtue, or a stone sinking us deep into the lower realms.
