Guided Buddhist Compassion Meditation: A Casket of Sacred Dharma

By NLNCND Team
The Noble Living, Noble Caring, Noble Dying team shares a classic contemplation on compassion from the great master Pema Karpo.

Compassion Meditations are found throughout Buddhist literature. As a caregiver you may find it helpful to read these aloud to your client and his or her family and friends if they are open. Also, from time to time it is rejuvenating to read or listen to such contemplations in your free time when you need inspiration.

Here, we present an audio reading of one classic contemplation, by the great master Pema Karpo. You may wish to spend some extra time on the visualization process, pausing the recording to allow for that to stabilize.

Pema Karpo.

Omniscient Pema Karpo (kun mkhyen padma dkar po) ( 1527-1592), was a great scholar and adept of the Drukpa Kagyü school. This contemplation is entitled A Casket of Sacred Dharma.1*From The Pratyekabuddhayana: A Collection of Teachings, a book compiled by Kyabgön Phakchok Rinpoche for teachings on the Nine Yānas. Revised and edited for Lotsawa House, 2016.
