The Seven Points of Mind Training

In this course, Matthew Zalichin, resident teacher at Samye Hermitage New York, will lead students through the seminal text, The Seven Points of Mind Training.

The lojong (or mind training) practice involves the contemplation and meditation on aphorisms to refine and purify our intentions and aspirations. These slogans act as powerful mechanisms to purify our mental obscurations and help us train in relative bodhicitta and ultimate bodhicitta.

In this course, Matthew Zalichin, resident teacher at Samye Hermitage New York, will lead students through the seminal text, The Seven Points of Mind Training, brought to Tibet by the great Atisha Dipamkara and committed to writing by Chekawa Yeshe Dorje. This course is taught over ten teaching sessions, giving students the time to meditate and contemplate these profound instructions to transform their minds.

Chekawa Yeshe Dorje (1101-1175), who codified the Seven Points of Mind Training

Each teaching session will include a meditation session. We encourage you to also download the recording of the meditation for your personal use. Phakchok Rinpoche regularly reminds students of the importance of daily practice. With this video, you can gradually familiarize yourself with the chants. We hope this serves as valuable support for your personal practice.

The cost of this course is $108, which helps support Samye Institute, Samye Hermitage New York, and our ongoing activities. We want to ensure that the Dharma is accessible to everyone so if you have financial difficulty, please contact us.
