Kyabgön Phakchok Rinpoche’s main vehicle for transmitting the lineage blessings, teachings and practices is in the Three Streams courses. With the aspiration to give all practitioners of the Buddhadharma an opportunity to study and practice according to their own interest, ability, and inclination, Rinpoche teaches three streams of learning and practice following the traditions of the past masters:
During these courses Rinpoche teaches the traditional technical aspects of these three streams, and also gives personal advice on how to take these precious teachings to heart. At various times and locations throughout the year, Rinpoche teaches or arranges courses for each of these three streams. View Rinpoche’s calendar here. Anyone with a sincere interest is invited to join these retreats and teachings and follow these paths.
An individual should practice all three streams as they complement each other and are necessary for a comprehensive understanding and practice of the Buddhadharma. It is ideal to begin with the Path of Meditation training of Mahāmudrā in order to develop a basis of genuine experience through practice while at the same time studying and practicing the teachings of the Nine Yānas Path. Later, when one has completed the ngöndro (preliminary practices) and then received a personal yidam (meditational deity) practice from Phakchok Rinpoche, one should begin the Traditional Vajrayāna Path.
