Does Calmness Bring Mindlessness?
Description
A student asks Phakchok Rinpoche about the three core exercises he teaches to build a good life base. The student understands that the practices might bring calm mindfulness, but he worries that others might think he has become mindless.
Here, Phakchok Rinpoche explains that the first calming breath practice does bring one down and inwardly focused. But the second practice, “Opening the Heart”, is a very active practice. And Rinpoche also reminds us all that we should not live our lives according to what other people say.
