Anasuya Weil

Prior to studying Tibetan Medicine Anasuya Weil, Menpa, M.S., L.M.T., received her M.S. in 2001 from UMass Amherst and did a thesis on the Buddhist practice of dana (generosity/giving) in a Burmese village. She studied Traditional Tibetan Medicine and Kunye (Tibetan massage) from 2005-2009 at the Shang Shung Institute School of Tibetan Medicine in Conway, MA under the guidance of Dr. Phuntsog Wangmo and at the Tso-Ngon (Qinghai) Hospital & Tso-Ngon (Qinghai) University Tibetan Medical College in Eastern Tibet.

Since 2010 she has maintained a private clinical practice in Northampton Massachusetts. She employs traditional methods of questioning, taking the pulse, and observing the urine to determine imbalances. Working with each individual she makes suggestions for diet, behavior, herbs and external treatment to reestablish a person’s balance and alignment. Traditional Tibetan Medicine is a truly holistic practice that takes into account the body, mind and spirit. Anasuya has been a Buddhist practitioner since her first 20 day retreat in India in 1971 and practicing Tibetan medicine is a continuation and extension of that practice where she strives to maintain the right motivation and attitude of compassion. She is grateful to her guru Neem Keroli Baba, my many dharma teachers, especially Phakchok Rinpoche, her teachers of Tibetan medicine, her husband, children and 6 grandchildren for their ongoing kindness and support.
