Samye Institute is overjoyed to announce a new live course, focusing on the Bodhisattva vehicle of Phakchok Rinpoche’s Nine Yana pathway. This course is devoted to the seminal Seven Points of Mind Training. This pithy Mahayana lojong text is based upon the teaching of the great Atisha Dipamkara. Initially, these instructions spread orally only from master to disciple until they were committed to writing by the 12th century by the Tibetan master Chekawa Yeshe Dorje.
In The Seven Points of Mind Training, resident teacher at Samye Hermitage New York (formerly Gomde Cooperstown), Matthew Zalichin, will lead students through ten teaching sessions taught on Zoom. This course will be taught over ten live teaching sessions, giving students the time to meditate and contemplate these profound instructions to transform their minds.
The first session of this course will be held on Thursday, October 27th, at 6:00 PM EDT. The repeat class will be held on Friday, October 28th at 11:00 AM EDT. Find your local time here.
We are offering live teachings twice a week, with the same content will be covered in both sessions. Recordings of previous teachings will be made available so that students can review these teachings to aid their contemplation. Students will have perpetual access to these teachings, they will not expire.
In the live sessions, Matthew will discuss how modern householders can incorporate these core Mahayana principles into their daily lives. We can learn how to improve our relationships with family, co-workers, friends and acquaintances as we adopt these practices.
