Uttaratantra Shastra Seminar with Kyabjé Khen Rinpoche Tashi Palden (Kyabjé Khenpo)
January 5, 2023 @ 2:00 pm – January 26, 2023 @ 4:00 pm CET
The Uttaratantra Shastra (Tibetan Gyud Lama, Sanskrit Mahāyānottaratantra Śāstra) is a profound commentary on the teachings of the third turning of the wheel of Dharma explaining buddha nature. It is counted as one of the “Thirteen great texts”, which form the core of the curriculum in most Tibetan monastic shedras. The text contains 5 chapters which focus on the Tathagatagarbha (or buddha nature), Awakening (bodhi), Enlightened Qualities, Buddha Activity, and the Benefits of the Text itself.

About Kyabjé Khen Rinpoche
Kyabjé Khen Rinpoche Tashi Palden received a wealth of teachings and transmissions from Sötrul Rinpoche, the abbot of Kyabjé monastery in Tibet, and later on from the 11th Situ Rinpoche, the 16th Karmapa, and Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö Rinpoche among many others. Kyabjé Khenpo received the transmission for the Uttaratantra Shastra directly from Kyabjé Sotrül Rinpoche, whose three gurus were Jamgön Dorje Chang Pema Wangchok (the 11th Situ Rinpoche), Khentrül Dorje Chang Chökyi Lodrö (Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö) and Khenchen Dorje Chang Tashi Özer. Khenpo met Kyabjé Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche and spent several years with him at his hermitage, Nagi Gompa. In Nepal he also met and received teachings and transmissions from Kyabjé Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, Kyabjé Kalu Rinpoche, and the 12th Situ Rinpoche. Since Khenpo-la arrived at Gomde Pyrénées at the end of November, he has been giving daily teachings to the three-year retreatants at the specific request of Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche. Kyabje Khenpo resides in Kathmandu, and does not teach regularly, neither in Nepal nor abroad. We therefore highly encourage everyone to cherish this unique opportunity to attend Kyabje Khenpo’s teachings.
