In this interactive companion, you can listen to Matthew Zalichin recite the name-list prayer of the Chokling Tersar, the Damdzin Namtrul, or “Brilliant Sunlight of Threefold Devotion.” Phakchok Rinpoche recommends that we begin every practice session with this prayer as we connect to the Guru’s lineage and reflect on their kindness in transmitting these teachings to us. You can read more about why we perform supplication.
By clicking on the double-vajra icon (teal background), you can open a pane showing further information about the master mentioned in the prayer.
This supplication in two parts was composed by the grandson of Chokgyur Dechen Lingpa, Tersé Tulku Choktrül Rinpoche, at the command of his elder brother, the holder of the Dharma and family lineages, the sublime Samten Gyamtso Namkha Drimé. Later, it was supplemented by Kyapjé Dilgo Khyentsé Rinpoche.
