Can Compassion be Trained?
September 11, 2021 @ 8:00 am – 10:00 am UTC+0
Samye Institute is delighted to announce that David Shlim will offer a live event focusing on training in compassion titled Can Compassion be Trained? on September 11, 2021 at 8AM MDT (Check your local time here). Dr. Shlim is a senior student of Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche, Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche, and Phakchok Rinpoche. As an experienced travel medicine doctor, David has devoted his life to demonstrating how Buddhist teachings on the nature of compassion can improve medical care.
His methods for developing into more loving, compassionate beings resonate with anyone regardless of their background or previous training. Seasoned Buddhist practitioners will also find that these teachings can reinvigorate their practice and allow for deeper understanding, making new connections between their overall practice and compassion.
David teaches the new Samye Institute course, Training in Compassion. The course contains seven units, each containing a lecture from David and carefully selected videos of Phakchok Rinpoche’s teachings in the Compassion Project. David also offers clear and simple meditation instructions suitable for beginners as well as experienced practitioners.
